SeaO₂ Joins CO₂ Value Europe ♻️

We at SeaO₂ are excited to join CO₂ Value Europe! 🎉

Our mission is to revolutionize carbon capture with our Direct Ocean Capture (DOC) technology. Using renewable electricity and cutting-edge electrochemistry, we extract CO₂ directly from seawater, leveraging the ocean’s immense natural ability to absorb carbon. Since seawater contains 150 times more CO₂ per litre than air, this method provides a highly efficient and scalable solution for removing carbon and mitigating climate change.

We successfully demonstrated our DOC technology with a prototype in the Netherlands, proving our ability to extract CO₂ from seawater. The captured CO₂ was then transformed into sustainable concrete through a collaboration with Paebbl, ensuring permanent sequestration while contributing to greener building materials. Building on this success, we are now scaling up with a pilot plant set to capture 250 tons of CO₂ per year by 2025. Looking ahead, we are actively exploring carbon capture & utilisation (CCU) applications for Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAFs) with our partner Transavia Ventures, helping to decarbonize the aviation industry ✈️. Additionally, we are working with FLIE to explore the integration of our DOC technology into their Power-to-X initiatives, contributing to the production of green fuels for the maritime sector, supporting the transition to cleaner energy 🚢.

By joining CO₂ Value Europe, we gain access to a thriving network of CCU pioneers, the opportunity to showcase our technology, and collaborations with industry leaders. Membership also strengthens policy advocacy, helps us access funding opportunities, and increases our visibility among EU policymakers and the public. We are proud to be part of this movement, driving innovation in carbon capture and utilization to create a circular economy .
