At SeaO₂, we're proud to announce our partnership with Svašek Hydraulics to develop high-resolution modeling that investigates the dilution of decarbonized seawater. Based in Rotterdam, Svašek Hydraulics brings extensive experience in hydraulic engineering and modeling seawater dynamics in coastal and harbor environments, making them our ideal partner for this specialized work.

Our modeling collaboration with Svašek Hydraulics provides critical data on dilution patterns of treated seawater in the immediate environment, which will inform the optimal placement of our carbon removal process. These 3D non-hydrostatic models, nested into a large-scale tidal model, help us identify the spatial scales of mixing zones in which decarbonized seawater rapidly dilutes and the region of influence where our technology effectively counters ocean acidification. This analysis enables us to determine optimal monitoring points to ensure environmental safety. By understanding these dilution patterns and gradients of decarbonized seawater, we advance our understanding of Direct Ocean Capture's interaction with the marine environment and strengthen our approach to responsible technology development that benefits ocean health.
