SeaO₂ secures €2+ million investment to extract 1 gigaton of CO₂ out of  the sea by 2045

We’re thrilled to announce that SeaO₂ has secured over €2 million in seed funding to advance our Direct Ocean Capture (DOC) technology! 🌊 This breakthrough technology enables us to efficiently remove CO₂ directly from seawater, helping mitigate climate change by enhancing the ocean’s natural ability to absorb CO₂ from the atmosphere. Our goal? Removing 1 megaton of CO₂ by 2030 and reaching 1 gigaton by 2045! 🌍💪

This latest funding, backed by visionary investors like DOEN Participaties B.V. NEW-TTT fund, Future Tech Ventures, CarbonFix, and several other (angel) investors, will power our transition from prototype to pilot plant, launching in 2025 with an annual capacity of 250 tons of CO₂.

A big shoutout to our team, partners, and investors for their dedication to accelerating our mission! This marks a major step forward in the fight against climate change, and we couldn’t be prouder. 🌱
